I got frustrated and built my overheads with a series of 90 degree brackets. service reps told me that this drill press takes 'Metric T-slot nuts. By the way, I forgot to mention that one of the Delta tech. ![]() The 5/8' T-slot nuts (1-1/8' long) wont drop down enough to slide into the slots. Our studs and bolts come in a variety of thread sizes and lengths. In other words, at the top its width is 1-1/8' but at the bottom its width is 1'. I tried everything: going slow, going fast, more speed on the press, less speed on the press, more lubricating oil, a ridiculous set up of clamps making sure my jig and working piece don't move, etc. Find clamping studs and t-slot bolts for milling machine and drill press tables here today. It ends up being a comically oversized oval that is more useless than a handle-less bag of dicks. Everything lines up perfectly, I have the right depth set, I have the $40 flute bit and the drill press, but this f****** bit just ovals out every single hole I drilled. I have a a section that was machined by a professional that I used to build a jig so I can build my own sections of 80/20 using anchor fastner. I was trying to drill anchor fasteners for my overhead cabinets. Other days (like today) you walk away a grumpy, belittled man like myself. Some days you walk away from a day using 80/20 stoked on how easy and wonderful and light it is. ![]()
